How To Control The Accuracy Of Asphalt Ratio In Asphalt Concrete Mixing Plants

In asphalt concrete mixing plants, the control of asphalt ratio accuracy is a key link to ensure the quality of concrete. The following are some main measures to control the accuracy of asphalt proportioning.

High Precision Measuring Equipment

The asphalt mixing plant should be equipped with high-precision asphalt measuring equipment, which can accurately measure the amount of asphalt used and ensure that the asphalt content in each batch of concrete meets the design requirements.

Automatic Control System

By introducing advanced automatic control systems, the mixing plant can monitor and control the amount of asphalt added in real time. The system automatically adjusts the output of the asphalt metering equipment based on the preset mixing parameters to ensure the accuracy of the asphalt mixing.

Calibration

Regular calibration of asphalt metering equipment are important steps to ensure accuracy. For this, LUTON MACHINERY uses standard weights to load and test the equipment, ensuring that the displayed values on the metering display or computer are consistent with the actual asphalt dosage.

Asphalt Temperature Control

The temperature of asphalt has a significant impact on its fluidity and viscosity, which in turn affects the accuracy of the mix ratio. Therefore, the mixing plant needs to strictly control the temperature of asphalt to ensure it is within an appropriate range, in order to ensure the accuracy of asphalt measurement.

Employee Training And Management

Operators should receive professional training and be familiar with the control methods and equipment operation of asphalt proportioning. At the same time, the mixing plant should establish strict management systems to ensure that operators operate in accordance with prescribed procedures and standards.

Quality Monitoring And Feedback

The mixing plant should implement strict quality monitoring measures and regularly test and analyze concrete samples. By using a feedback mechanism, adjust the asphalt ratio parameters in a timely manner to ensure that the concrete quality meets the design requirements.

In summary, through high-precision measuring equipment, automatic control systems, calibration and calibration, asphalt temperature control, employee training and management, as well as quality monitoring and feedback measures, asphalt concrete mixing plants can effectively control the accuracy of asphalt ratio and ensure stable and reliable concrete quality.

Classification and Application of Asphalt

Classification of asphalt

Coal tar asphalt

Coal tar asphalt is a by-product of coking, that is, the black substance that remains in the still after the distillation of tar. The coal tar is only different in physical properties from refined tar. The general mixed tar such as hot processing, through the coking step, so that the gum expansion, free carbon precipitation, it tends to be fixed, if the appropriate heating often can continue to get tar.

Petroleum asphalt

Petroleum asphalt is the residue after distillation of crude oil. According to the degree of refining, it is a liquid, semi-solid or solid at room temperature. Petroleum asphalt is black and shiny, with high temperature sensitivity. Because it has been distilled to more than 400℃ in the production process, it contains very little volatile components, but there may still be high molecular hydrocarbons that have not been volatilized, and the gel properties of these unvolatilized molecules are similar to the aromatic drunken parts of the gas phase, so it is still temperature-sensitive. Natural asphalt

Natural asphalt is stored underground, and some form mineral layers or accumulate on the surface of the crust. This kind of asphalt mostly through natural evaporation, oxidation, generally does not contain any toxins.

Application of asphalt

Road engineering

Petroleum asphalt is one of the most widely used main asphalt materials in road engineering. It mainly used for road pavement or workshop floor and other requirements of high strength, wear-resistant, impervious occasions. Because this asphalt contains a large amount of resin, it has a strong adhesive force with fibrous materials such as wood, and has a good solvent effect on organic substances such as benzene and phenols. It is also used as moisture-proof floor coatings in construction projects. Visit ltasphaltplant company to find more information on asphalt mixing plant.

Waterproofing works

Petroleum asphalt has excellent adhesive strength, insulation and water resistance to wood, glass, cement and other building materials, so it is widely used in waterproof and anti-corrosion treatment of buildings. Asphalt concrete or asphalt mortar or linoleum on the roof, bathroom and basement can play a good waterproof role.

Antiseptic treatment

Petroleum asphalt has good corrosion resistance, and it can be used to protect metal pipes. The roofs of buildings are coated with this asphalt to withstand heat and rain. Railroad ties coated with this asphalt are antiseptic and protect the train from corrosive moisture. Because this asphalt is waterproof and antiseptic, it is widely used.

What Are the Equipment for Producing Concrete

Concrete production equipment uses machinery instead of labor to mix cement, sand and water in a certain proportion to produce concrete required for construction projects. Commonly used concrete production equipment includes: concrete mixing plants, concrete truck mixers, ready-mixed concrete plants, mobile concrete mixers, small concrete mixers, and self transit mixers. There are many kinds of equipment for producing concrete. The following are the common ones, and introduce their respective advantages and characteristics:

1. Concrete mixing plant: Concrete mixing plant is one of the main equipment for mass production of concrete. It is composed of mixer, batching machine, screw conveyor, mixer and so on. The advantages include high production efficiency, large production scale, suitable for large-scale projects, and stable output of high-quality concrete.

2. Concrete truck mixer: This equipment installs the mixer directly on the truck chassis, which can transport the concrete to the construction site. Advantages include high flexibility, easy on-site movement, and suitable for small to medium-sized projects.

3. Ready-mixed concrete station: The ready-mixed concrete station is to form ready-mixed concrete by mixing cement, aggregate and concrete admixture in advance, and supply it to the construction site in a centralized manner. Advantages include strict quality control, stable production process, suitable for large projects or projects with limited construction time.

4. Mobile concrete mixer: This equipment combines the advantages of concrete mixing plant and truck mixer, and has the characteristics of mobility and high-efficiency production. It is suitable for projects requiring frequent transitions or construction in remote areas.

5. Small concrete mixer: Small concrete mixers can be divided into diesel mixers and electric mixers, with manual feeding. It is mostly used in small projects that do not require high concrete quality. It is characterized by cheap price, convenient and flexible movement.

6. Self-loading concrete mixer: This is a new type of concrete mixer. It has self-feeding, automatic weighing, mixing, automatic unloading, and short-distance transportation projects. This equipment can be applied to small and medium-sized construction projects, especially mountainous or tunnel projects with rugged and narrow roads.

Each type of concrete mixing equipment has its own advantages, and their selection depends on the specific requirements of the project, such as project scale, production efficiency, quality standards, investment budget, etc. It is very important to choose the suitable concrete production equipment according to the needs. Building Technology of Pumping Concrete

Building and construction process of pumping concrete: prepare pumping concrete prior to pumping, mix as well as transport, and also clean the pipe for healing after pumping.

  1. Prep Work Prior to Pumping

(1) During building in warm seasons, the concrete delivery pipeline shall be covered with a wet blanket or a damp straw bag to cool off, so regarding stay clear of sunshine and also raise the downturn.

At the same time, spray water at regular periods to lower the mold temperature; Throughout construction in reduced temperature level, it is required to cover or cover with thermal insulation products.

(2) Execute an extensive examination, as well as start the equipment for trial run after meeting the demands. After the pump starts, pump a correct quantity of clean water to damp the receptacle and piston.

As well as shipment pipeline and various other components straight contacting with concrete. The concrete pump as well as delivery pipe shall be oiled with concrete mortar with the very same mix proportion as the pumped concrete.

(3) Inspect whether the laying of the transmission pipe is reasonable and firm; Whether the lighting as well as water source can be made use of generally.

  1. Pipeline Laying On Site

(1) It is much better to choose the shortest route as the transmission pipe. Bend and also pipe will be made use of as little as possible in the pipeline, and also elbow and pipe with excessive flexing will be prevented.

The versatile pipe at the end area shall not be curved more than 180o and also will not be turned.

(2) The upright conveying pipeline shall be repaired at the scheduled opening of the wall surface, column or flooring with embedded components or wedged with wooden wedges. A minimum of one pipeline will be set on the wall surface as well as column set factor; The straight pipeline shall be fixed with braces at specific periods, and also the much shorter the horizontal pipe, the much better.

(3) The bend below the upright pipeline near the bottom shall be individually given with a fixed center to bear the weight of the pipe.

  1. Mixing of Pumped Concrete

(1) The quality of different resources of concrete will meet the mix design needs. When blending pumped concrete, different resources will be measured.

(2) The mixing and also feeding series of concrete is concrete and also fly ash, stone and also sand, water and admixture. Admixtures shall be included later than water and cement.

(3) The minimal mixing time of pumped concrete is 1min; When admixtures are added, it will be extended for 1 ~ 2min; The maximum mixing time must not surpass 3min.

After the concrete blending operation of one mix percentage is completed, the blending drum of the concrete mixer shall be extensively cleaned to drain pipes the collected water.

  1. Transport of Pumped Concrete

If problems permit, the concrete shipment pump can be put under the electrical outlet of the mixer, getting rid of the transport web link. When concrete have to be delivered, concrete mixer vehicle will be utilized for transport. During the transportation, the mixing drum of the car will turn at a slow rate of 3-6r/ minutes. The transportation period is not easy to go beyond 1/2 of the first setup time of concrete. Before feeding, revolve the blending cylinder at medium as well as high speed to make the concrete mix uniformly.

  1. Concrete Pumping

(1) When pumping, slow down initially, and also check whether all parts of the pump operate generally and whether the transmission pipeline leaks slurry and is firm. Begin to increase to the normal speed nevertheless systems operate typically.

(2) If the pumping need to be interrupted somehow, the disturbance time will not go beyond the permitted time from mixing to the completion of putting.

(3) When pumping concrete, if air is drawn into the distribution pipe due to the failure of concrete supply or various other factors, the concrete in the pipe shall be immediately pumped out.

The dirt will be remixed in the hopper as well as pumped once more after the air is discharged.

(4) When the concrete is transferred to the pouring area, it will be poured into the formwork right away. If the concrete mix is separated or layered, the concrete shall be mixed. The product will be stirred twice.

(5) After pumping, the concrete in the concrete pump shall be cleansed and the pump as well as delivery pipe will be cleaned up.

  1. Treating of pumped concrete members.
    Efficient curing procedures shall be taken after concrete pouring or very long time construction of mass concrete. It is purely prohibited to reveal the concrete to the sunlight for a long period of time, so that it will certainly split and shed water prematurely and influence its strength. It ought to be noted that:

(1) The concrete shall be covered and preserved with dampness within 12 hrs after the conclusion of concrete pouring.

(2) When the temperature level is lower than 5, thermal insulation and treating steps will be taken, and straw bags or sacks will be covered on them. Currently, watering for curing is purely restricted.

(3) Time for concrete watering and curing: for concrete blended with Portland concrete, common concrete or slag concrete, it shall not be less than 7 days; For concrete with admixture or impermeability requirements, it will not be less than 2 week.

(4) The sprinkling times shall be able to maintain the concrete in a moist state, and also the healing water will coincide as the mixing water.

(5) The revealed surface of the concrete covered with plastic towel shall be snugly covered, and the interior will be kept with condensed water.

Precautions for Asphalt Plant Commissioning

Asphalt mixing plant can also be called asphalt concrete mixing plant and asphalt concrete batching plant. It refers to the complete set of equipment used for batch production of asphalt concrete. According to the mixing mode, it can be divided into forced intermittent type and continuous production type; According to the mode of transportation, it can be divided into fixed, semi fixed and mobile.

You can browse the Lutonasphaltplant to learn more asphalt equipment.

During the first installation (or installation after relocation) of the asphalt plant, attention must be paid to the commissioning steps. The correct commissioning steps can avoid some unnecessary detours and save production materials.

After completing the manual test run and burner ignition test run of each part, the next main thing is the metering system commissioning and automatic mixing commissioning. The metering system commissioning and automatic mixing commissioning are very important, which are generally carried out in the following order:

1.Manually operate and check the action of each weighing door and bin door. Firstly, manually operate and check whether each aggregate bin door acts normally, whether the aggregate weighing door acts normally, whether the powder weighing door acts normally, and whether the powder weighing door acts normally, then operate and check whether the asphalt weighing door and jet pump act normally, and then jog and check whether the asphalt weighing door (that is, the asphalt weighing door) acts normally. After all these are confirmed to be normal, proceed to the next step of commissioning;

2.Calibrate scale. Use weights to check the aggregate scale, powder scale and asphalt scale, and confirm that the three scales are accurate and meet the measurement accuracy;

3.Start the mixing plant and stir some dry aggregates, stop the machine until there are three kinds of aggregates in the full bin, and keep the air compressor and mixer motor running;

4.Manual metering test. Manually measure the aggregate scale, powder scale and asphalt scale in turn. It is required that the measuring amount of each scale should be controlled according to the mix proportion provided by the laboratory. The total amount of each scale should only account for 50% of the normal production. Check whether the measuring system displays normally. Then manually mix and (after the materials on the scale are discharged) put the mixing pot away. If problems are found at this time, timely handle and check them. If everything is normal, go to the next step of debugging;

5.Dry aggregate automatic mixing test. Set the formula according to the target mix proportion (the total amount of each plate is input according to 60% of the normal production volume of each plate), but set the asphalt volume to zero, set the production volume of about 3 plates, start automatic mixing, and observe whether the measurement of the aggregate scale and the powder scale is accurate under the automatic mixing state, and whether the actions of each step are normal (during this period, the laboratory can take samples to check whether the mix proportion of the aggregate powder meets the requirements). After confirming that it is normal, proceed to the next commissioning;

6.Automatic mixing test of black material. The formula is set according to the target mix proportion. This time, the asphalt amount is added, about 3 plates of production are set, and the automatic mixing is started again. Now, the main check is whether the action and measurement of the asphalt scale are normal under the automatic state. If it is normal, the laboratory can take the finished material to detect the asphalt content.
So far, the main commissioning of the asphalt station has been basically completed. If the finished materials do not meet the target mix ratio, the input mix ratio will be adjusted.

Simmer Down Spring Greens in Lightroom

I’m so happy Spring is here and I can finally photograph green fields and sunshine again! But with this time of year comes those bright greens (and yellows) that can show up in digital files like neon in the 80′s. Fortunately, this is an easy fix in Lightroom.

Lightroom Tutorial | Tone down Spring Greens

I captured the photo below a few days ago late morning.  After I made a few adjustments to my Raw file the Spring greens and yellows became quite vibrant and needed some help to simmer down.

Lightroom Presets

To correct this, I grabbed the HSL pin by clicking on it (shown with the coral arrow pointing at it) and placed it over the area of green I wanted to correct. Once in place, the pin automatically grabs the color (in this case green and yellow).  Then I decreased the saturation of these colors to my liking by dragging down.  The pin applied a cohesive de-saturation to all the areas in the photo colored green and yellow. You can see the slider adjustments when looking at the panel. Beware however, that this will effect all areas of the photo. If he would have been wearing a green shirt or had green eyes, this would have desaturated those areas as well.  When that happens you can often use the local adjustment tool (aka Brush) to paint back over those areas and correct them. Additionally, you can manually adjust your green and yellow sliders to get the same effect.
